Thinking is Working

Do you feel guilty when you sit down to do ‘nothing’?

We are forever told that we need to work hard, be more productive and efficient. The implication is that we are lazy for sitting still ‘doing nothing’. It’s no wonder that we are triggered in our guilt and shame when we do steal a few precious moments. Even now, I still have to catch those thoughts at times.

This week, Annie and Eva highlight the importance of making space to ponder and contemplate life. No guilt necessary, but a warming beverage is highly recommended!

This kind of thinking has a different quality. There is no analysing, no trying to control an outcome, just the act of being present and an intention to observe and listen for what you need to hear.

This is partly why doodling The Heartworker’s Way is such a powerful tool. Apart from it being a simple and joyful way to express yourself, it also gives you the chance to sit quietly, ponder and dream. This is so crucial if you want to create clarity and make way for positive change in your life.
