An Adventurous and Playful Spirit

Do you ever feel like running off to live in the woods?

I have had a lifetime of wanting to run off, whether to live in the woods and/or sail the seven seas. My restless soul finds this ‘normal’ modern life rather a challenge.

For many years that is exactly what I did. I worked a few years and then I would have a great adventure, doing something out of the ordinary, as long as it involved being in nature in one way or another. It was always exciting and I met some amazing people en route (including my husband!).

When I got to my mid thirties I realised I needed more and something had to change. Even though these adventures were a great change of scene, nothing seemed to have changed when I got back to ‘normal life’.

Much has changed since that realisation and I went on an inner journey instead. Even so, the thoughts of escape haven’t left me. Over time, however, I have learned to be a little less impulsive and these days my adventures are mostly of a creative nature.

My impulsive streak is an important part of my creativity. Even though it creates challenges when it comes to running a business, I am not sure if I would have personally flourished if I tried to contain its adventurous and playful spirit.
